About Him
Pedro Polanco. born in Venezuela, came to USA to live in 1983. Since he was a child , he was fascinated with movie make-up. He recalls watching the tv. series "the Planet of the Apes" and wonder how it was done. Also, he dressed himself up friends and family for carnaval which it would be Mardi Grass in the USA. Now he has kept his tradition but for Halloween.
He, never knew there was a school that thought Special Effects make-up, until one day surfing the internet he found one, " Joe Blasco make-up center" three hours away and decided to go. While in school he did what he always wanted to do, create a character from "The Planet of the Apes" he made it using wax and did it on himself. Since he finished school, he developed a thirst for knowledge on what kind of materials and techniques are new and available in order to give more realism to his make-up.
He has done make-up for several movies, "Delusional" a short film directed by Alyn Darnay and written by Gregory Van Dam where Gregory also is an actor and plays different characters, that gave him the challenge of changing Gregory's ethnicity, age and facial features in order to bring to life the characters played. The other film which he uses gelatine and silicone to make one the characters look like if he had been blinded and scared on the face. The next one is "Species of the Universe" directed by Daniel Montoya and produced by Elizabeth Hong.
Another one is a webtv series "Caped Crusaders" directed by Kurt Donath and Produced by Tom Leeman an Jon Van Der Baan.
